NO CYCLONE PREDICTION HAS BEEN MADE AS OF NOW: IMD DG
Bhubaneswar (22/09/2023): India Meteorological Department (IMD) DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Friday said that as of now, we have not predicted any cyclone.
People should stay away from rumours and follow the information shared by IMD. According to Mohapatra, October is a cyclone-prone month for Odisha.
Depressions and cyclones are formed in Bay of Bengal during this month.
We have kept a vigil on the system.
After a cyclonic circulation forms, a clear picture will emerge.
The cyclonic circulation is likely to form over eastcentral Bay of Bengal around the end of September.
It may concentrate into a low pressure area in October first week.
The low pressure may intensify into a depression.
