Odisha celebrates Pakhala Dibasa with zeal

Bhubaneswar(20/03/2025): Odia people across the globe are celebrating Pakhala Dibasa to commemorate the favourite summer cuisine of fermented rice. There are different variants of the dish. Pakhala can be Sajja Pakhala, Basi Pakhala, Dahi Pakhala, Jeera Pakhala, Ghia Pakhala, Malli Pakhala, Sugandhi Pakhala and Tabha Pakhala. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi greeted all on Pakhala Dibasa and called for everyone's concerted efforts towards the spread of the Odia cuisine. People in Odisha visited several hotels and restaurants to relish Pakhala. Pakhala is included in the recipe of Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri as a common delicacy.
To mark the day, the Shree Jagannath Paribar Charitable Trust and Shree Jagannath Pancharatra Prachar Samiti have joined hands to celebrate the festival in a grand way at Barsha Village near Guru Kelucharan Park in Gadakana area of Bhubaneswar .
