DRIVER CHARRED TO DEATH AS TRUCKS COLLIDE IN NUAPADA

Nuapada (22/03/2024): A driver was charred to death after two trucks collided in Sinapali block of OdNuapada district here on Biju Expressway at Chatiaguda near Jogenpadar Chowk under Sinapali police limits in Nuapada district late on Thursday night. The deceased, identified as Mouslim Khan, was the brother of the driver at the front Iqbal Khan. The two trucks belonged to one one owner from Rajasthan.

The vehicles were loaded with aluminium and were plying back to back from Jharsuguda when the driver of the front truck suddenly applied brakes resulting in a rear-end collision with the truck behind.

Following the collision, the truck behind caught fire and the was driver burnt alive. Fire Services personnel reached the spot and doused the flames.

Initially, it was difficult to rescue the driver.

Later, the body was retrieved and sent to the community health centre for post-mortem .
