Anchalika Suraksha Mancha (ASM) Calls Protest for Safety of Slum Dwellers

Balasore, Sept 4 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty):
The Anchalika Suraksha Mancha (ASM) has threatened protests demanding safety and road connectivity for slum dwellers of Jambeswarpur under Genguti Gram Panchayat, Sadar Block.

The only road used by tribal and backward communities in the area has become hazardous due to lack of repair. Despite repeated complaints, no action has been taken by officials or local representatives, causing hardship for the elderly, children, and the differently abled.

ASM president Kamal Lochan Raut, along with local residents, submitted a memorandum to Additional District Magistrate Sudhakar Nayak urging the construction of a durable road from Dr. Paramananda Sethi’s house to the Library Canal via Kalikumar Thakurani, connecting to the Pradhan Mantri Pakka Sadak.

Raut warned that if the demand is ignored for the next 15 days, ASM will launch agitation. Locals Ajit Das, Alok Behera, Sujit Barik, and Sanjib Nayak joined in submitting the memorandum and thanked the media for highlighting their plight.
