13th Jagatsinghpur Heritage Walk Explores Kaduapada and Dihasahi

Balasore, March 2:(Krushna Kumar Mohanty) : The 13th edition of the Jagatsinghpur Heritage Walk was conducted on Sunday at Kaduapada and Dihasahi, drawing around 25 heritage enthusiasts from Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. 

The walk aimed at rediscovering the lesser-known historical and cultural landmarks of the region and creating awareness about the need to preserve local heritage.

Participants explored significant sites in Kaduapada and Dihasahi, learning about their historical relevance, architectural features, and socio-cultural importance. The walk also included informal discussions on conservation challenges and the role of community engagement in safeguarding heritage structures.

The programme was coordinated by Srikanth Singh, who briefed the participants on the historical background of the locations and emphasized the importance of documenting oral histories and traditional narratives associated with these villages.
Senior member Bhagaban Das played a key role in guiding the group through various heritage spots. He was assisted by Shashank Panda, Trilochan Swain, Sambit Singh, Debashish Patra, Dinesh Swain, Ratiranjan Panda, Bikash Chandra Swain, Hrudananda Behera, Shubham, and Saurabh, who ensured the smooth conduct of the event.

The organisers stated that the Heritage Walk series has been steadily gaining attention among youth and history lovers. They reiterated their commitment to continue organizing such initiatives in different parts of the district to promote awareness, appreciation, and protection of Jagatsinghpur’s rich cultural legacy.
