ODISHA CM PARTICIPATES IN CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN PURI AHEAD OF RATH JATRA
Bhubaneswar (06/07/2024): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, senior leaders of BJP, Ministers, MLAs and others attended a mega cleanliness drive ahead of the world famous Rath Jatra in Puri. The Chief Minister wielded a broom to sweep the Bada Danda (Grand Road).
The CM said, "Cleaning is a sacred act.
As Lord of Universe Mahaprabhu Jagannath will give darshan to millions of devotees on Rath Jatra, the cleanliness drive was carried out by the state government to keep the Bada Danda clean during the grand festival." President Droumadi Murmu will be also attending the Rath Yatra festivities as a devotee on July 7 and 8 respectively.
She will arrive on a four-day visit to the state today.
