Odisha to get dedicated VFS Global Visa Centre in Bhubaneswar

Residents of Bhubaneswar and across Odisha will soon have easier access to international visa services, as VFS Global is set to establish a fully functional Visa Application Centre in the state capital from April 1, 2026.
The development was confirmed by VFS Global CEO Zubin Karkaria in a letter addressed to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In its initial phase, the centre will handle visa applications for the United Kingdom and select countries within the Schengen region.
Expansion to additional destinations will be considered based on applicant demand.
Apart from routine biometric and document submission services, the centre will provide value-added assistance, including application form support, documentation guidance, travel insurance facilitation and personalised visa concierge services.
These offerings are expected to support students pursuing higher education abroad, as well as business professionals exploring global opportunities.
Currently, many applicants from Odisha must travel to other cities such as Kolkata to complete visa procedures. The new facility will significantly cut down on travel costs and time, offering greater convenience to families and first-time applicants.
The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities for local youth, with training and skill development initiatives built into the rollout.
The centre is scheduled to be inaugurated on April 1, coinciding with Utkal Dibas celebrations.
