Organic rice to be used for Lord Jagannath’s Kotha Bhoga

Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty): Starting from the upcoming Rath Yatra, the Kotha Bhoga offered to Lord Jagannath will be prepared using organic rice.

According to Agriculture Department Principal Secretary Arabinda Padhee, the rice will be sourced from the ‘Balabhadra Organic Farming Mission’.

Under the Shree Anna programme, organic farming is being practiced in several districts. 

Farmers in Niali and Koraput are cultivating organic paddy for this purpose.
