PM Modi lays foundation for Rayagada Railway Division, major railway projects across India
New Delhi (06/01/2025): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several railway projects including the Rayagada Railway Division through video conferencing. Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu also attended the virtual event. Among the key projects, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the Rayagada Railway Division Building of the East Coast Railway.
He inaugurated the new Jammu Railway Division, marking a significant step towards enhanced connectivity in the region.
He also inaugurated the Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana. Rayagada Railway Division Building will improve connectivity in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and nearby areas, fostering regional development. The PM said, "The last decade has been the decade of a visible transformation of the Indian railway.
It has changed the image of the country and has given confidence to the countrymen.
We are taking forward the development of Indian Railways on four parameters- first, modernisation of railway infrastructure; second, ensuring advanced facilities for railway passengers; third, railway connectivity to every nook and corner of the country and fourth, creation of jobs in railway.".
