PM MODI LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF 508 RAILWAY STATIONS
New Delhi(06/08/2023): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of 508 railway stations across India under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
The Prime Minister highlighted that around 1300 railway stations will now be developed in India as Amrit Bharat Railway Station.
They will be redeveloped in a modern way.
Of these, work on the redevelopment of 508 Amrit Bharat Railway Stations begins today.
Around 25,000 crore will be spent on the redevelopment of these 508 stations spread across 16 states and Union Territories, including 55 each in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, 49 in Bihar, 44 in Maharashtra, 37 in West Bengal, 34 in Madhya Pradesh, 32 in Assam, 25 in Odisha, 22 in Punjab, 21 each in Gujarat and Telangana, 20 in Jharkhand, 18 each in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, 15 in Haryana and 13 in Karnataka.
The PM said, “India, which is heading towards the goal of being developed, is at the beginning of its Amrit Kaal.
There is new energy, new inspiration and new resolutions, and in this spirit, a new chapter is beginning in the history of Indian Railways.”
