Ratna Bhandar repair work to be paused till Rath Yatra

Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty): The repair work on the Ratna Bhandar (treasure house) of the Puri Srimandir will remain suspended from April 28 to June 27 in view of the upcoming Rath Yatra. 

Following a crucial meeting convened by the 
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) regarding Ratna Bhandar conservation, Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee informed that the repair work, which started on December 17 last year, has reached the final stage. The work will be halted to ensure the smooth conduct of the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath."

As per decision, the repair work will resume on June 28 and continue till July 6. It will be completed in this phase."
According to Padhee, laying 5 stainless steel beams and completion of the granite flooring work in the inner Ratna Bhandar, are yet to be done.

Out of the total work, 277 khandolite stones have already been laid, with 148 stones laid in the inner Ratna Bhandar.
