SEVEN FROM ODISHA FOR NATIONAL SELECTION CAMP FOR GOTHIA CUP
Bhubaneswar(26/04/2024): The prestigious Gothia Cup International Football Tournament will be held in Sweden from July 14 to 18 this year in which 15 teams from the Scandinavian countries and 15 from other countries will vie for honours.
It will be played in the 7 a side format.
Special Olympics Bharat is slated to send a 24 member team to participate in the international tournament.
The National Selection Camp has started on Friday at the Atal Bihari Bajpayee Disability Sports Centre at Gwalior. A seven-member team of Odisha is participating in the camp which will continue till 29th of this month.
The Odisha team is represented by players Samit Khuntia, Sunil Bhoi, Baishnab Rajpalia, Rama Bariha, Kanha Sahu, Deepak Chandan and Coach Jhasaketan Sahu of Balangir.
Area Director of Special Olympics Bharat-Odisha, Prakash Rath, President, Sunita Mund, Vice President, Umakanta Sarangi, Sports Director, Sasmita Mohapatra, Treasurer, Suresh Khuntia, State Co-ordinator, Arpita Mohapatra and Board Members, Manatosh Behera, Tanmay Senapati and Diptimayee Rout have congratulated the team members and wished them success.
