State Level National Energy Conservation Day observed

Bhubaneswar(14/12/2024): The State Level National Energy Conservation Day was observed on Saturday.
On this occasion, a public awareness rally was held at 8 AM from Kalinga Stadium to Power House Square in Bhubaneswar.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment and Energy Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo inaugurated the rally.
The rally was organized by the Energy Department and CES. A state-level exhibition was organized on the occasion by the Chief Engineer (Electricity), Department of Energy at the Convention Center of Lokseva Bhavan, Bhubaneswar.
Various government, private organizations, industrial organizations, professionals, teachers, students and students participated in this ceremony.
Various models related to energy conservation were demonstrated by the school students of 30 districts.
In addition, various energy efficient devices, electric vehicles, solar panels were displayed and encouraged to use them.
In this ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo joined as the chief guest and said that our initiative in energy conservation should not be limited only in the seminars and conferences but should be used in our day-to-day life.
Such as, keeping switches of electrical appliances off when not in use, use of green energy, renewable energy instead of coal based energy to combat climate change.
Let's all work together to conserve energy, work together to tackle climate change and global warming.
With the vision of Viksit Bharat, Viksit Odisha, we have to take drastic steps like energy conservation and indulge the future generations in this practice. Quiz competition related to energy conservation was held at block and district level.
and the top 30 contestants have got the chance to participate in the state level exhibition.
About 1,50,000 contestants from class 7 to class 10 across the state participated in this quiz competition.
The top 3 contestants were awarded certificates and cash prizes of Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
Apart from this, state level awards were given to various industries for exemplary energy conservation projects.
