Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): School students in Odisha will be able to travel free in government buses. This was announced by School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Friday.

The Minister said, "Students can travel to their schools for free in government buses by showing their identity cards. Besides, all students from Class 1 to Class 10 will be provided free textbooks."

As per the National Education Policy, major changes will be brought in primary education. Steps will be taken to develop SCERT in line with the NCERT framework, Minister Gond stated.
