Symbol of Patriotism: Bharat Mata Poojan and Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas Observed at Fakir Mohan University

Balasore | 20/8(Krushna Kumar Mohanty) Carrying the sacred message of national unity, pride, and patriotism, Fakir Mohan University, in collaboration with Bharatiya Sanskriti Prachar Samiti, observed “Bharat Mata Poojan and Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas” on its campus with great reverence.

The program began with the offering of garlands and flowers to the portrait of Bharat Mata, followed by meditation and devotional chanting of “Vande Mataram”, filling the atmosphere with a spirit of nationalism.

Presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy, the ceremony reflected deep patriotic fervor. In his presidential address, Prof. Tripathy remarked, “Worshipping Bharat Mata is a tribute to our soil, our culture, and our pride. When the youth dedicate themselves to the vision of Akhand Bharat with responsible citizenship, the nation’s radiant future shines brighter. Upholding the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, we must march ahead carrying the true identity of Indian ethos.”

Chief Guest Dr. Gopal Prasad Mohapatra, National Convener of Akhil Bharatiya Sadbhavana, shed light on the lesser-known chapters of India’s history. Urging everyone to adopt the spirit of “Nation First”, he emphasized fulfilling one’s duties with commitment, respecting the Constitution, and nurturing a spirit of dedication towards global welfare.

Guest of Honour Shri Bishnu Charan Nayak, Pramukh Pracharak of RSS Balasore Division, delivered an inspiring address to the students. He underscored the importance of knowing and respecting the nation, preparing oneself for its service, and contributing meaningfully to nation-building. He stated, “Education must serve the cause of the nation, and life should be not only successful but truly purposeful.”

Professor Bhaskar Behera, Chairman of the Postgraduate Council, highlighted that the worship of Bharat Mata is not merely a ritual, but a symbol of undivided devotion. He stressed that this collective pledge would inspire youth towards the cause of freedom, communal harmony, and a brighter future.

Faculty, students, and staff collectively pledged to uphold “national unity, social cohesion, and unbroken solidarity.” The program also witnessed spirited renditions of patriotic songs including “Vande Mataram” and “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon”, evoking deep emotions of love for the motherland.

The stage was coordinated by Sanskrit Department student Abhipsa Acharya, while Shri Harichandan Das, District College Coordinator of RSS, proposed the vote of thanks.

The commemoration at Fakir Mohan University not only rekindled patriotic fervour but also inspired students towards a renewed path of social responsibility, national unity, and unwavering devotion to the motherland.
