Tension flares after massive fire at Unit-1 Market in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): Tension gripped the Unit-1 Daily Market in Bhubaneswar after a massive fire broke out on Wednesday, gutting more than 25 shops.

Eyewitnesses reported a heated scuffle between shopkeepers even as police personnel were present at the spot. The altercation reportedly broke out over property and damage-related disputes following the blaze at the vehetable market.

As many as 11 fire tenders were pressed into service, and firefighters managed to bring the flames under control after several hours of effort.

Police have tightened security in the area to prevent any further untoward incidents, while an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
