Bhubaneswar (24/03/2024): As many as 15 platoons of police force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar to prevent any untoward incident during Holi celebrations. Static posts will be set up at 31 locations in the city to check nuisance at public places and roads.
Besides, 17 extra mobile patrolling vehicles apart from PCR vans will be deployed during the festival of colours. Extra staff has also been provided to the control room for surveillance and coordination.
This was informed by Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh. Singh said, "Strict surveillance will also be conducted through CCTV cameras and if there are any untoward incidents including clashes, immediate action will be taken by the Commissionerate Police.
Any kind of nuisance will not be tolerated.
There is zero tolerance towards drunken driving which will continue during Holi as well." Hotels and other institutions have been asked to take necessary permission for organising any parties as the model code of conduct for the elections is in force.
Such organisers will have to inform the local police station regarding the crowd and have to get permission to use loudspeakers. A special team headed by a DSP rank officer and experts from the Pollution Control Board has also been formed.
The team will inspect shops to check colour adulteration, he added .
