2 KILLED, 12 INJURED AS PICKUP VAN FALLS OFF BRIDGE IN KORAPUT

Jeypore(17/03/2024): At least two persons were killed while more than 12 others sustained injuries after a pickup van ferrying them skidded off a bridge and fell into a gorge on Sunday. The incident took place at Khatlapadar Bridge under Kundura police station in Koraput district. The condition of three persons among the 12 injured was stated to be critical.

The vehicle carrying the occupants for a wedding was stuck mid-way in the bridge. Firefighters and ambulance rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. All the injured were rushed to Kundura Community Health Centre.

The critically injured were shifted to Jeypore after preliminary treatment at the Community Health Centre.
