3RD FRAMEWORK WORKING GROUP MEETING HELD IN KOCHI
Kochi(15/06/2023): Under India’s G20 Presidency, the 3rd Framework Working Group meeting was convened from June 13-14 2023, in Kochi, Kerala.
The meeting was co-chaired by Dr.V.Ananth Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser, Union Ministry of Finance, and Tom Hemingway, Deputy Director of the Treasury.
The meeting focused on global macroeconomic issues of current relevance.
In the first session of the meeting, representatives of the G20 and various international organizations had detailed discussions on the current global economic outlook.
Over 75 delegates from G-20 member states, invited countries and various international and regional organizations participated in this meeting.
The current global economic outlook, the macroeconomic impact of food and energy insecurity, and the macroeconomic impact of climate change and transition pathways were discussed during this meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to develop a shared understanding of member countries' policy experiences and to seek to explore areas where global cooperation can help support countries' domestic efforts. On the sidelines of the meeting, a panel discussion on “Financial Globalization – Opportunities and Risks” will be organized on the second day of the meeting.
The panel will be moderated by Professor of Cornell University, Ishwar Prasad.
Earlier, the delegates were taken on the Kochi Water Metro for a ride.
Furthermore, all the foreign delegates enjoyed spectacular performances given by the local artists during the cultural event organized on Monday night.
Along with this, various programs have been planned for the delegates to give them a glimpse of the captivating natural beauty and cultural heritage of Kochi.
