63RD COUNCIL MEETING OF WODC HELD
Bhubaneswar(09/02/2024): The 63rd Council meeting of the Western Odisha Development Council was held at Rajiv Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Asit Tripathy, Chairman, WODC presided over it.
He welcomed the Members, Adviser and officers present in the meeting.
Initiating the discussion, Tripathy thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the Government for enhancement of the Budgetary Allocation of WODC to the tune of Rs.500 crore for the financial year 2024-25.
In the financial year 2023-24, for the completion of the incomplete Kalyan Mandap, Community Center, and Open Mandaps, out of the Rs.125 crore special grant received, the expenditure of Rs.74 crore 11 lakh for the completion of 893 Mukhya Mantri Sabha Ghar was presented in the council meeting and got unanimously approved.Council Member Secretary - cum - Chief Executive Officer Dr.Ajit Kumar Mishra presented the agenda for discussion in the meeting.
In the council meeting, approval of 128 crore 22 lakh rupees was approved for 1767 people-centric development projects in between August 22, 2023 and February 7, 2024 as recommended by the MPs, MLAs and others.
In the Council Meeting, all the members appreciated the steps taken by the Western Odisha Development Council towards the successful coordination and management in completion of projects like the Mukhya Mantri Sabha Ghar, auditoriums and other livelihood projects.
Tripathy, Chairman, WODC called upon the joint efforts of people’s representatives, advisor, expert members and officers for the successful implementation of various developments oriented people-centric projects. In the meeting, the Advisor and all the Expert Members put forth their views regarding their respective district plans and future requirements.
Tripathy, Chairman, WODC highlighted various measures taken up by WODC for overall transformation while implementation of various WODC funded projects and utilization of these projects for public.
In addition, he called upon all the members to work as a union.
He emphatically expressed that WODC is now in correct path to meet its objectives for which it was established.
Use of technology in GIS mapping for various projects, especially Open Mandaps, Community Centres and Kalyan Mandaps was demonstrated in the meeting and it was well appreciated by all.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks given by Chief Executive Officer Dr.Ajit Kumar Mishra.
