Students' union elections in colleges & universities to be held in upcoming academic year

Bhubaneswar (26/12/2024): The Students' union elections in colleges & universities across Odisha will be held in upcoming academic year. This was announced by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday. No student body elections have taken place in the state in the past six years. While addressing an event of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Chief Minister criticised the previous BJD government for halting the students' union elections for such a long duration. Incidentally, the BJD government had stopped the students' union elections since 2018 because of cyclones, COVID-19 and campus unrest.
