Anchalika Surakshya Mancha Extends Service Support to “Run for Unity” Organized by Sadar Police Station
Balasore, Nov 1 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty):
On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel—freedom fighter, former Deputy Prime Minister, and the first Home Minister of independent India—a “Run for Unity” was organized by Balasore Sadar Police Station to spread the message of national integration. During this event, Anchalika Surakshya Mancha extended service support to the officials and citizens participating in the run.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a visionary leader and statesman, unified 562 princely states into independent India through his remarkable diplomatic skill, strengthening the nation’s unity without bloodshed. To commemorate such an extraordinary figure, the Sadar Police Station organized the marathon, which saw enthusiastic participation from over twenty departmental officers, including the dynamic IIC Salkhan Murmu, along with several members of the public.
At various points along the route, Anchalika Surakshya Mancha, comprising socially dedicated local youths, distributed ORS, Tata Glucon-D, cold water, fruits, and refreshments to the runners and officials, encouraging them throughout the event.
The run began from Sadar Police Station, passed through Kuruda Chhak, and concluded near the Tamulia flyover on the main district road. The event was flagged off by Remuna MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Gobinda Chandra Das, who praised the initiative.
The effort received appreciation from the public. On this occasion, Anchalika Surakshya Mancha also urged the authorities to install a life-size statue of Sardar Patel in Balasore, as Nilgiri was the first princely state of Odisha to merge with independent India under Patel’s leadership.
Over fifty members and office-bearers of Anchalika Surakshya Mancha actively assisted in organizing and coordinating the successful event.
