Naveen Patnaik takes dig at BJP during Nuapada by-election campaign, says they are not game changers, they are name changers

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik addressed a public meeting at Tarbod under Komna block in Nuapada district as part of the by-election campaign.

Speaking in support of BJD candidate Snehangini Chhuria, Naveen highlighted the various developmental works carried out in Nuapada during the BJD government’s tenure.

He said, “It was during our government that Nuapada became part of Odisha’s development journey. The Biju Expressway was built, irrigation facilities were extended to 10,000 hectares of farmland, check dams were constructed, and safe drinking water was provided to the people.”

Addressing the crowd, he asked, “Tell me, are you getting 300 units of electricity? Are our farmers receiving urea fertilizer on time? Have the problems in paddy procurement been resolved?”

He also mentioned that Mission Shakti women have not been paid their honorarium for the past eight months, and further questioned, “Which scheme do you think is better — the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana or Ayushman Bharat?”

"You and the BJD have been betrayed. We will take revenge for your anger on November 11,” Naveen declared, calling on the people to respond through their votes.

The BJD chief alleged that during the 16-month rule of the BJP government, development work has come to a standstill and the administration has failed to meet public expectations.

He questioned, "Which is better — the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana or the Ayushman Bharat scheme?”
Taking a dig at the BJP, Naveen remarked, “They are not game changers, they are name changers.”
