Annual general meeting of Bhakta Dasia Pitha held in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): The annual general meeting of Bhakta Dasia Pitha was held at the Bishnu Temple Conference Hall in Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar. 

The meeting was presided over by Padmashree Dr. Ashok Kumar Mahapatra, Working President of Bhakta Dasia Smriti Committee, Baligaan, Puri.

Eminent singers Arjun Charan Samal and Ajay Kumar Das sang Bhajan of Lord Jagannath. 
A two-minute silence was observed in the memory of the people who lost their lives in Pahalgam terror attack.

The meeting strongly condemned the recent naming of a newly constructed Shree Jagannath Temple in Digha, as the fifth Dhama. 

The members also discussed and approved the budget for the financial year 2025-26 and reviewed the income and expenditure of the previous financial year.

The meeting also discussed plans for upcoming festivals, including Snana Purnima, Sri Gundicha, and Bahuda Yatra, and urged all members to cooperate in ensuring the smooth conduct of these events.

The members expressed gratitude to MLA Ashrita Pattnaik for his support in maintaining the heritage pond Ghotagadia development works.

The meeting was attended by several notable personalities, including former Chief Engineer Shiba Prasad Patnaik, Engineer Surendra Nath Panda, Brundaban Mohapatra, Dr Narayan Mohapatra, Trinath Lenka, Rotarian Jayprakash Mishra, Dr Manoranjan Patnaik, Mamata Biswal, Laxmi Narayan Das, Panchanan Nayak, Satyabadi Das, Sadananda Sahu, Biraja Prasad Satpathy and Gopal Bal.
