Atal Smruti Parishada Observes Death Anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Genguti Panchayat: Proposal Passed for Installation of His Statue

The regional social organization 'Abhyudayam' observed the death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, great leader, Bharat Ratna, and distinguished poet Atal Bihari Vajpayee at its office premises in Genguti Gram Panchayat. The memorial meeting was presided over by the former Sarpanch of Genguti Panchayat, Birupakhya Mohapatra.

During the meeting, youth organizer Sabyasachi Pradhan, a leading member of 'Abhyudayam', proposed the registration of an “Atal Smruti Parishada” and suggested the installation of a full-sized statue of Vajpayee jee. The proposal was welcomed by all present Atal admirers, and it was unanimously decided to install the statue on the occasion of Good Governance Day and Vajpayee’s 101st birth anniversary.

Welcoming the initiative, Jaldhar Samal, President of the Alumni Council of the Regional High School, Saun, said, “Through people’s participation, Atalji’s ideals and principles will spread far and wide, inspiring rural talents and guiding them in shaping their future and character.”

Mr. Mohapatra called upon all individuals from different walks of life who are inspired by Atalji’s ideals, principles, and personality to join the proposed “Regional Atal Smruti Parishada.” He also announced that along with the installation of the statue and beautification of the premises on December 25, 2025, marking Vajpayee’s 101st birth anniversary, a second phase will include the establishment of an “Advanced Atal Digital Library.”

The meeting was attended by poet Sudhakar Sethi, social worker Bhagabat Behera, Pitambar Mohapatra, Prasanna Parida, Puranjay Senapati, Naba Kumar Nayak, Ajay Nayak, Ramchandra Mohanty, Satyanarayan Acharya, Chinmay Pradhan, Jitendra Mohapatra, Dipan Chandra Das, Babuli Das, Ratiranjan Acharya, Shubhrajeet Mohanty, and from the younger generation Shubhranshu Raut, Muktikant Pal, Jayashree Raut, Lucky Samal, and Jyotishree Behera, who all shared their thoughtful opinions.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Mohapatra said, “The Atal Smruti Parishada will make continuous efforts to reach every admirer of Atalji’s ideals and personality, so that this initiative can be successfully realized.”
