BANDH IN ATHAGARH, TITLAGARH & JAGATSINGHPUR AFFECTS NORMAL LIFE

Athagarh/Titlagarh/Jagatsinghpur(07/12/2023: Separate strikes in Athagarh (Cuttack district), Titlagarh (Balangir district) and Jagatsinghpur town affected normal life on Thursday. In Athagarh, a 12-hour bandh has been called by the Cuttack Zilla Kriyanusthan Committee seeking district status for Athagarh.

Shops, markets and educational institutions remained closed due to the strike. Similarly, the Balangir Zilla Kriyanusthan Committee has called a 12-hour bandh in Titlagarh. The bandh is being observed to demand district status for Titlagarh. Commercial establishments, educational institutions remained closed and vehicles stayed off the roads due to the strike. Besides, a 10-hour bandh (6 am to 4 pm) is being observed by more than 35 organisations and the BJP at Jagatsinghpur town demanding establishment of a medical college.
