BHUBANESWAR TO BE DUMPING-FREE IN NEXT FIVE TO SIX MONTHS

Bhubaneswar(01/11/2023): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has assured that steps will be taken to end garbage issue completely in the capital city. According to BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange, we are working on a plan to make Bhubaneswar dumping-free by March/April 2024. Garbage dumping was a matter of concern for the BMC at Daruthenga where it was going on for the last several years on 63 acres of land.

But the civic body stopped dumping garbage there from May 15,2023 due to opposition from locals.

Bio mining of garbage piles has been started at Daruthenga dumping yard and the entire 63 acres of land will be reclaimed in the next three or three and a half years, Kulange added.
