BMC launches mass dog sterilization drive

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday launched a mass dog sterilization drive to control the stray dog population. The dog van was flagged off by Mayor Sulochana Das at the BMC headquarters here. 

The sterilization process will be carried out by the Vets Society for Animal Welfare & Rural Development, Hyderabad.

Target has been set to sterilize approximately 2,000 stray dogs per month.

Reportedly, there are approximately 50,000 stray dogs in Bhubaneswar.
