Odisha issues SOP for E-Scholarship
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): The Odisha government has issued the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protshana Yojana for the 2024–25 academic year, confirming that scholarship amounts will be transferred to beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
The SOP clarifies that if a student receives the e-scholarship in one academic year and later changes institutions, he or she will not be eligible for the scholarship during the first year at the new institution. However, the scholarship may be availed from the second year of the new course, subject to the availability of the unused quota at the new institution.
To qualify, beneficiaries must submit academic records, entrance examination marksheets, or transcripts. Students from outside Odisha or those enrolled in non-SAMS institutions must upload their marksheets through DigiLocker.
The SOP also sets age limits for eligibility: students above 25 years for undergraduate courses and above 30 years for postgraduate, technical, and professional courses will not be eligible.
A committee constituted by the District Collector will finalise the list of eligible beneficiaries. The committee will verify the required proof documents and submit the approved list with proper signatures in the prescribed format, which will clearly indicate each student’s eligibility status.
