DEEP DEPRESSION INTENSIFIES INTO CYCLONE MIDHILI OVER BAY OF BENGAL
Bhubaneswar(17/11/2023): The deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 20 kmph during the past six hours and intensified into a cyclonic storm "Midhili" on Friday. The cyclonic storm is about 190 km east of Paradip, 200 km south-east of Digha (West Bengal), and 220 km southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh). According to the India Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm is likely to continue to move north-northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast close to Khepupara with a wind speed of 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph during the night of November 17 and early hours of November 18. The cyclonic storm will have no impact on Odisha.
