District-level Ceremony on Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Pulses Self-Reliance Mission Held in Balasore

Balasore, Oct 11 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): With the vision of promoting agricultural growth and farmer empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Pulses Self-Reliance Mission virtually from New Delhi at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
In this context, a district-level ceremony was organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Balasore, at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall.
Balasore MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi attended as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Gobinda Chandra Das (Deputy Chief Whip and MLA, Remuna), Manas Kumar Dutta (MLA, Balasore Sadar), Narayan Pradhan (Zilla Parishad Chairperson), Anusuya (Vice-Chairperson), and Hemanta Kumar Singh (Additional District Magistrate, Revenue).
Addressing the gathering, MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi spoke about various initiatives taken by the Central and State Governments to strengthen farmers through multiple welfare schemes. He expressed confidence that by 2047, India would emerge as a strong and developed nation. He also urged farmers to focus on organic farming methods and to double the production of pulses crops, contributing to agricultural self-reliance.
Other guests shared their insights on key issues related to modern and sustainable agriculture. ADM (Revenue) Hemanta Kumar Singh informed the gathering about the government’s various farmer-oriented schemes and stated that under the Pulses Mission, four districts of Odisha would be included in the implementation phase. He also extended a vote of thanks.
The event witnessed participation from over 100 farmers from different blocks of Balasore district, along with agricultural officers and staff. The entire programme was coordinated by Tusharkanti Tunga, Chief District Agriculture Officer, Balasore.
