Dreaded criminal injured in police encounter
Angul(06/04/2025): A dreaded criminal was injured in police encounter near Hanuman Batika under Angul town police limits on Saturday night. The criminal identified as Khirod Nayak, a resident of Chhendipada in Angul district, received bullet injury in his right leg. Seeing the joint team of Angul police and Special Squad, Khirod tried to escape by hiding in a nearby mango orchard. He opened fire at the police team in an attempt to flee.
When the police personnel retaliated, he sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was nabbed. In the last one month, eight criminals were arrested after six separate encounters in Odisha.
