Elaborate arrangements put in place for Rukuna Rath Yatra

Bhubaneswar (05/04/2025): The Rukuna Rath Yatra of Lord Lingaraj in Bhubaneswar will be held today.

As per decision, the 'Pahandi' or ceremonial procession of deity will be performed between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm.

Worship of the deity will be performed atop the chariot from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Chariot pulling will be done from 3:30 pm onwards.

For ensuring seamless flow of the procession, the Commissionerate Police will deploy 16 platoons of police force.

Two DCPs, three Additional DCPs, five Assistant ACPs, along with twelve inspectors, 65 sub-inspectors and assistant sub inspectors will be engaged during the festival. For avoiding traffic congestion, streets covering a 200 to 300 -metre radius in anticipation of the procession have been cleared.
