Landslides, flooding sever road connectivity in Gajapati

Gajapati(By Abhishek Mohanty): Continuous heavy rainfall has caused landslides and flooding in several parts of Gajapati district, disrupting normal life. 

With the Mahendratanaya river overflowing, rainwater submerged the Saradhapur bridge, snapping road connectivity between Junglepadu and Saradhapur.

In Rayagada block, a landslide near Bonda village under S. Karadasingh panchayat has blocked major routes. As a result, transport between Bonda, Khiliganda, Kudinghi, and Upper Sankurda villages to S. Karadasingh has been completely halted.

District authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged residents to remain cautious as restoration work begins.
