ELEPHANT TRAMPLES TWO FARMERS TO DEATH IN KHORDHA

Khordha(04/12/2023): An elephant trampled two farmers to death at Jaritapur under Pariorada panchayat in Tangi block of Khordha district on Sunday night. The deceased have been identified as Krushna Chandra Pradhan and Laxmidhar Behera. The deceased had gone to their farmland to watch over their crop which is ready to be harvested.

When the two found the elephant destroying their crop, they tried to drive the wild animal away.

Unfortunately, the jumbo trampled them to death. Following the incident, the locals demanded the forest department should provide adequate compensation to family of the deceased and steps to keep the elephants away from their farmlands.
