Female elephant found dead in Ganjam

Berhampur (03/01/2025): A female elephant was found dead near a sugarcane field at Dhepaguda village under Sanakhemundi block in Ganjam district on Friday. Locals spotted the carcass and informed the Forest department. Forest department officials reached the spot and started investigation.

They informed that the animal died of electrocution after coming in contact with a live electric wire laid to trap wild boars.
