FIRST KIDNEY TRANSPLANT PATIENT DISCHARGED FROM UTKAL HOSPITAL

Bhubaneswar(06/12/2023): A male kidney transplant patient was discharged on Wednesday, 06.12.2023, from Odisha's premier super multi-specialty Utkal Hospital in Niladri, Vihar, Bhubaneswar.

And now he has completely recovered.

Dr.Lalat Barun Patra (Senior Consultant of the Nephrology Department) of Utkal Hospital said that he can work like others. The patient's kidney problem was known six months ago.

Since then, he has undergone dialysis three times a week.

Finally, his mother-in-law decided to donate her one kidney to his son-in-law.

Last month, on November 27, 2023, the victim underwent a kidney transplant.

Today, the patient has been discharged from the hospital with a full recovery. This complex kidney transplantation has been successfully completed for the first time at Utkal Hospital.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Dr.Lalat Barun Patra (nephrology), Dr.Pabitra Kumar Mishra (urology), and the support team, this was made possible successfully.
