GHATAGAON ACCIDENT: CM ANNOUNCES EX-GRATIA OF RS 3 LAKH
Keonjhar (01/12/2023): Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Rs 3 lakh ex-gratia for the next of the kin of the deceased and free treatment for those injured. At least eight people were killed while seven others sustained critical injuries after the van they were travelling in rear-ended a truck on NH-20 near Balijodi in Keonjhar district on Friday. The accident happened just a few kilometres away from Maa Tarini temple. The van carrying 19 persons was coming from Digapahandi in Ganjam district. The injured were admitted to Ghatagaon hospital for treatment.
Later, they were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital after their health condition deteriorated.
