Puri(By Abhishek Mohanty ): A girl student was allegedly set ablaze by three miscreants at Bayabar village under Nimapara block in Puri district on Saturday. 
The incident took place when the girl student was walking to her friend's house.
According to information, the bike-borne miscreants intercepted the Plus II girl student and allegedly poured a flammable substance on her before setting her on fire.
Locals rescued the victim and rushed her to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida directed the police to ensure immediate arrest of those involved in the crime.

The Deputy CM said, "The state government will bear all medical expenses of the victim. Strict action will be taken against the culprits."
