Glass-coated kite thread injures youth in Cuttack

Cuttack(By Abhishek Mohanty): A young man was injured after a glass-coated kite thread (manja) struck him while he was riding a motorcycle through heavy traffic at Khannagar area in Cuttack on Monday.

The thread reportedly hit his nose, causing severe bleeding.

The injured youth was immediately rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.
 
Three days ago, a youth was critically injured atter a glass-coated kite thread hit his throat at Pokhariput area in Bhubaneswar.

Following the incident, the Capital Police Station staff carried out raids on several shops at Unit 1 Market here to check the sale of these banned glass-coated kite threads.
