GOPAL DAS HAD TAKEN OATH TO KILL NABA DAS, REVEALS CHARGESHEET FILED BY CRIME BRANCH

Bhubaneswar (14/07/2023): The Odisha Crime Branch on Friday filed it's 500-page chargesheet against Gopal Das, the accused in Minister Naba Das murder case. The chargesheet revealed that the accused had visited Samaleswari Temple along with his brother, observed his mundane and took an oath to kill Naba Das.

Gopal Das had also decided to eliminate the Naba Das during inauguration of statue of Kishore Mohanty at Brajarajnagar, but failed to get a chance for the same. In it's chargesheet, the Crime Branch has stated that during his tenure at Badmal police station, Gopal had stopped some vehicles belonging to Naba Das during Motor Vehicle checking.

Following this Naba Das got furious and his supporters threatened Gopal and forced him to leave the vehicles unchecked In another incident, Gopal had handed over an application of his nephew to Naba in a public function, but the latter did not respond to it.

During investigation,the accused also confessed that the staff of Naba Das did not respond properly and tired to avoid him.

These developments created an impression in Gopal's mind that Naba was upset with him and there was an imminent threat to his life.

Gopal thought that Naba's supporters would kill him.

Hence, he planned to kill Naba before he was killed by him or by his supporters, the chargesheet mentioned.
