Indore(21/12/2023): In a momentous gathering that reshaped the landscape of human resources, SVKM’s NMIMS Indore Campus proudly hosted the unprecedented 'HR Conclave-People Puzzle'.
The event witnessed the convergence of industry-leading Human Resource titans, forward-thinking thought leaders, and esteemed academicians from premier national and multinational organisations, who addressed and engaged with more than 300 enthusiastic and future-focused students. The conclave was graced by top Chief Human Resource Officers (CHRO) and HR executives from leading firms and organisations from across the country.
The prominent guests included Anand Mishra, Senior Vice President - HR, HDFC Ergo; Pravin Sawant, CHRO & Senior Vice President - HR, 63 Moons Technologies; Sushant Kumar, APAC Lead - Early Career Programs, TATA Technologies; Indrani Chatterjee, Group CHRO, Allcargo Logistics Ltd; Gaurish Wagh, Global Talent and Leadership Development Lead, Credit Suisse; Unmesh Pawar, Chief People Officer, South Asia, Dentsu; Bosky Sharma, Head HR - Mindspace Business Parks, K Raheja Corp, Yogesh Sharma, Head - Employer Branding, Campus, Talent Acquisition – eClerx, Abdul Quader Kinariwala, HR & Talent Lead – Accenture and Paramveer Singh Narang, India Head of Talent Acquisition - Capital One Expressing his thoughts about the role of work culture in employee retention, Sushant Kumar pointed out that organisational culture and values played a significant role in the employee’s choice to remain with the company.
He believes that a sound work environment is the biggest competitive advantage for an organisation in a cut-throat job market. Anand Mishra reiterated that work culture played a crucial role in employee retention.
According to him, a training-oriented and rewarding corporate environment was the key to recruiting and retaining today's future-focused generation that was keen to grab learning and growth-based opportunities over increment-based conventional offers.
At the Conclave, eminent HR leaders delved into HR management areas about engagement, retention, performance, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and change management.
There were wide-ranging discussions and deliberations across three distinct panels on ‘Retention as the New Recruitment,’ ‘Engaging the Gen Z in Modern WorkForce,’ and ‘Managing Performance of Hybrid WorkForce.’ All the panel discussions were moderated by renowned journalists who ensured an engaging round of Q&A between the esteemed panellists and the audience. According to Unmesh Pawar, the way organisations and HR executives navigate challenges pertaining to the expectations and perceptions of today's workforce will define how the workplaces of tomorrow will look.
He emphasised that it was important for every organisation to encourage a cohesive work environment where everyone's skills and experiences come together to uplift the overall work experience for the next generation of the workforce.
Gaurish Waugh shed light on the several recruitment and onboarding processes designed by organisations to cater to the current generation of potential employees that are currently in practice across the board.
He called upon HR professionals and organisations to include practical training and development programs from as early as their pre-onboarding process to attract Gen Z to their organisations.
