India, Singapore sign MoUs in fields of digital technologies & semiconductors
Bhubaneswar (05/09/2024): Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between India and Singapore in the fields of digital technologies, semiconductors, health cooperation and skill development. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a visit to Singapore, arrived at the Parliament House on Thursday, where he received a ceremonial welcome. The Prime Minister met Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong, and the two delegations held bilateral meetings, following which the MoUs were signed. The MoU on digital technologies enhances collaboration in DPI, cybersecurity, 5G, Supercomputing, Quantum Computing and AI.
It supports digital upskilling and reskilling initiatives. The agreement on semiconductor ecosystem between India and Singapore focuses on semiconductor cluster development and talent cultivation.
It facilitates Singaporean investments in semiconductor sector of India. Similarly, the MoU on health and medicine promotes joint research and innovation in healthcare.
It enhances cooperation in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, including Indian professionals in Singapore. Moreover, the agreement on educational cooperation and skill development strengthens collaboration in technical and vocational education and training.
