Khandagiri Kumbh Mela begins with fervour & zeal
Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty: The historic Khandagiri Kumbh Mela began in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Magha Saptami.
The nine-day religious congregation has seen the participation of Naga sadhus from Odisha and outside the state.
Sadhus have set up their respective camps at the foothills of Khandagiri.
Meanwhile, the Arkakshetra (Konark) remained abuzz with religious fervour as hundreds of devotees took a holy dip at Chandrabhaga to mark Magha Saptami.

The much-loved annual festival returned this year, attracting visitors from across the region to explore a diverse array of products. Local farmers and producers are offering everything from household items to fresh agricultural produce, giving attendees a true taste of regional goods.
A key highlight of the festival is the Jatra performances, a traditional form of open-air theater.
Audiences can enjoy shows by at least 10 opera troupes, featuring lively music, dance, and storytelling that celebrate the area’s rich cultural heritage.
Organizers say the event not only promotes local craftsmanship and agriculture but also provides a platform for traditional performing arts, drawing both longtime residents and newcomers to the festival grounds.
