LORD JAGANNATH ADORNED IN SUNA BESHA ON KARTIKA PURNIMA
Puri(27/11/2023): Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were adorned in Rajrajeswar Besha or Suna Besha on the occasion of Kartika Purnima. Thousands of devotees visited Puri Srimandir to see the Suna Besha of the Holy Trinity. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has deployed altogether 50 platoons of police force to maintain law and order in and around the Srimandir and some other strategic places in the Holy City. The temple doors remained open for devotees throughout the night to facilitate devotees to have darshan of the deities. To mark the Boita Bandana Utsav, people from all walks of life set afloat miniature boats in different water bodies early in the morning.
The festival is a commemoration of the maritime glory of Odisha.
It is observed every year on Kartika Purnima.
