National-Level Mock Drill on Civil Defense Organized by Fakir Mohan University
Balasore, 08/05 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A national-level mock drill was organized at Fakir Mohan University to strengthen civil defense measures and promote life-saving preparedness. The event was conducted under the leadership and guidance of the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy.
The program was inaugurated by Professor Amulya Acharya, Program Coordinator of the NSS Bureau, who briefed the participants about the objectives of the drill. The mock drill was carried out under the supervision of PEO Sangram Bishoi, with active participation from NSS volunteers and students.
During the drill, students demonstrated crucial safety measures, particularly how to protect themselves and what actions to take during emergency situations such as air raids. These demonstrations aimed to enhance awareness and preparedness among the participants.
Dr. Pratima Pradhan, NSS Program Officer, coordinated the entire event. Dr. Abhaya Nayak expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the participants and the organizers for their involvement and efforts.
The program saw the presence of university faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff, who collectively gained valuable insights from the skills exhibited by the volunteers. The initiative, organized by the university, was regarded as a significant step toward promoting civil defense awareness and responsibility among all stakeholders.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy emphasized that the mock drill was an important measure to prepare the Fakir Mohan University community for appropriate responses during times of crisis.
