Odisha CM issues 15-point action plan to strengthen governance

Bhubaneswar(By Abhishek Mohanty): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has unveiled a comprehensive 15-point directive aimed at enhancing the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of the state’s governance system.

The directives were formally handed over to Chief Secretary Anu Garg for effective implementation.

Emphasising time-bound action, the Chief Minister instructed senior officials to treat the directives as priority goals. A major focus of the action plan is achieving a $500-billion state economy by 2036, aligned with the vision of placing Odisha among the top five developed states in India.
The Chief Minister laid special stress on accelerating industrial growth, directing departments to create a conducive environment for investment and employment generation. He also announced that the Nabakrushna Choudhury Development Research Centre would be upgraded into a Centre of Excellence to support policy research and development planning.

Reiterating the importance of Odia identity, CM Majhi directed that Odia must be used in all official government work, from the Secretariat to the block level. Strict compliance has been mandated, and explanations will be sought from officials failing to adhere to this instruction.

To strengthen public service delivery, the Chief Minister asked officials to actively listen to public grievances and ensure their speedy redressal. He also encouraged the effective use of social media platforms as tools for grievance resolution and public outreach.

Highlighting the need for ground-level governance, the CM instructed officers to conduct regular field visits to gain firsthand understanding of local issues and ensure timely solutions.
