Odisha government lifts restrictions on sale of part plots

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty) : In a major relief for landowners in Odisha, the state government has lifted the restrictions for sale of part plots. 

With this development coming into effect, people can now sell up to 5200 square feet of land.

According to Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, a layout needs to be prepared if the part plots are sold by plotting. The part plots can be sold, but nine-metre area should be left for roads.
The seller should have designated spaces for drain, parking and open space. Keeping this in mind, a layout should be prepared.
The layout plan should be submitted by the seller to the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) or the Block Development Officer (BDO), in case of rural area.

Owing to restriction imposed earlier on sale of part plots, the state government had to bear losses and people were facing difficulties.
