Passion Club to create 20-feet tall idol of Lord Ganesh

Bhubaneswar (By Abhishek Mohanty): On the occasion of the 20th annual day celebration of Passion Club, a 20-feet tall idol of Lord Ganesh will be worshipped, and a decorative arch (torana) made of bottles will be created. In this year's Ganesh Puja, Bhubaneswar’s leading youth organisation "Passion Club" is planning to create a unique torana (decorative arch) using bottles and a 20-feet tall idol of Lord Ganesh to mark its 20th anniversary.

While over 30 artisans from Kolkata are engaged in making the torana, students from the Art College are involved in crafting the idol. The puja will be held from August 27 to September 2.

On August 28 and August 31, drawing competitions will be conducted. On August 29, a tree plantation drive will take place. On September 2, arrangements have been made for prasad distribution to 2000 people. Every evening, cultural programs will be organised. All this was shared in detail today during a press conference held under the coordination of the club’s President Ashok Kumar Pallai. Last year, the club had created a 30-foot tall chariot in the shape of Nandighosha Ratha and worshipped Lord Ganesh in the form of Lord Jagannath, offering a unique conceptual experience of the puja to everyone. 

This year too, the residents of Bhubaneswar can expect another distinctive and memorable celebration.
