Peace Committee Meeting Held in Balasore Ahead of Durga Puja, Ravan Podi and Immersion Festival

Balasore, Sept 17 (Krushna Kumar Mohanty): A peace committee meeting was held yesterday evening at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan under the chairmanship of the District Collector to ensure smooth conduct of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja, Ravan Podi, and immersion festival.

The meeting was attended by the Balasore MLA, DIG, Chairperson of the Municipality, Additional District Magistrate, both Sub-Collectors, Additional SP, officers of various departments, members of the Peace Committee, and representatives of Akhada associations.

It was informed that No Objection Certificates (NOC) can be obtained from the Sub-Collector’s office through a single-window system on September 24, 25, and 26. DIG Pinak Mishra elaborated on the rules and regulations related to Akhada permissions, arches, and pandals.

The District Collector appealed to celebrate the festival with grandeur as well as peace and discipline, similar to last year. Special emphasis was given to restrictions on DJs and zig-zag lighting. Each pandal is allowed a maximum of four small speakers, and the sound levels must be kept under control. Necessary entry and exit gates along with adequate security measures are to be ensured at all venues.

During the immersion procession, vehicle movement near Cinema Chhak will be managed on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

The Balasore MLA urged everyone to follow rules and regulations, and to celebrate the festival in a spirit of brotherhood and harmony.
